therapy with laura

I am passionate about the lasting changes that therapy can bring to people's lives. My goal is to help you feel safe and comfortable enough to explore whatever you need.

About therapy

Therapy isn't just for times of crisis.

Common reasons for seeking therapy are feeling sad, anxious or depressed. Perhaps you are seeking help for a specific reason such as burnout from work, problems in your relationships or transitioning into motherhood. Maybe you feel stuck in your job or in your life and you're not sure why.

Together we can explore what's on your mind in a non-judgemental and confidential space.

My approach

My approach is warm, relaxed and collaborative and I integrate CBT, psychodynamic and relational therapeutic approaches depending on your needs.

Mental and physical health are interconnected and together we can explore how your mind and body can work together to create a greater sense of emotional and physical wellbeing.

An initial session offers an opportunity to explore what’s on your mind and to find out how therapy can help you, whether that is on a short term or more open-ended basis.

Research has shown that a good therapeutic relationship is essential to successful therapy which is why I believe the most important factor is that you feel safe and comfortable enough to be able to share how you are feeling.

What I can help with

I specialise in working with anxiety, burnout and post-natal anxiety and depression.

I am able to work with a range of further issues, feel free to contact me about a particular issue you wish to explore.

My training and experience

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their code of ethics and standards of professional practice. I have a Masters degree in Therapeutic Counselling from The University of Greenwich.

I have seven years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I worked at a low cost counselling service in East London for two years before opening my private practice in 2019.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked in advertising and then education so I have a first hand understanding of the demands of working in both corporate and academic environments.
