therapy with laura
I'm an integrative therapist and I am passionate about the lasting changes that therapy can bring to people's lives. My goal is to help you feel safe and comfortable enough to explore whatever you need.
With the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic there is understandably increased feelings of uncertainty, anxiety and sadness. I am currently offering online video therapy (via FaceTime or Zoom) enabling you to access support from the safety of your own home.
Adjusting to lockdown and social distancing measures may have left you feeling alone or trapped at home, perhaps you have more uncertainty with your job or possibly your relationships with family members, partners or friends are more strained than usual. I provide a non-judgemental and confidential space where you can feel free to explore what's on your mind.
My approach is warm, relaxed and collaborative and I integrate CBT, psychodynamic, relational and person-centred therapeutic approaches depending on your needs.
I believe mental and physical health are interconnected and together we can explore how your mind and body can work together to create a greater sense of emotional and physical wellbeing.
An initial session offers an opportunity to explore what’s on your mind and to find out how therapy can help you, whether that is on a short term or more open-ended basis.
Research has shown that a good therapeutic relationship is essential to successful therapy which is why I believe the most important factor is that you feel safe and comfortable enough to be able to share how you are feeling.

My training and experience
I have a Master's degree in Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Greenwich (a BACP accredited training course). I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their code of ethics and standards of professional practice.
I have four years of experience working as a psychotherapist. I worked at a low cost counselling service in East London for two years before opening my private practice in 2019.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked in advertising and then education so I have a first hand understanding of the demands of working in both corporate and academic environments.
